Dryads have enraptured humanity in legends and lore since ancient times. The ladies of the forest who were one with the trees themselves and captivated men with their beauty had tales of them spun and woven to withstand the test of time, but not all dryads necessarily fit this picture! The dryads we conjure could be man or woman, but are ultimately spirits with ties to their host tree so powerful and intimate that they could practically be considered one in the same. They typically are active when the tree is thriving, and become less so when the tree becomes dormant (as in winter). They also have an intricate bond with nature, allowing them to assist with green magick when they feel the desire to help their companions. Beautiful, potent and awe inspiring, these make excellent beginner’s companions (especially if they have a love of the outdoors, or even a green thumb!)
